A Bill of Materials is the recipe for assembling your products. It is an important record which contains the comprehensive list of all parts, items, and assemblies required to build a complete product.
In Turbo Inventory, the Bill of Materials page lets you create and maintain the components and quantities that make your finished goods.
- Head onto the left-hand Navigation Bar and click Bill of Material
- Search for the product and click Create Bill
- In the next page search for the parts, items and assemblies required and enter the quantities
- Turbo Inventory will automatically re-calculate the cost of the main product based on the components been selected

Things to keep in mind:
- The value of the finished product is the sum of the value of all component quantities.
- When you sell a Product that has a Bill of Material, the stock quantities of the components are adjusted accordingly maintaining an accurate stock level
- When purchasing a component item and changing the cost, this will automatically update the cost of any product that has it in the Bill of Material
